Go Along Cheerfully

Jennifer John, Founder & CEO

"What's that perfume you're wearing?"

"Oh, that's bug spray."

I've had this conversation too many times. As a lifelong mosquito magnet, I found myself applying bug spray all the time - to walk the dogs, sit on the porch, or spend any time outside. It's sticky and smelly, collects glitter and fuzz, and it washes out into the water supply.

Then I found Insect Shield® technology, originally developed for U.S. military uniforms. But the clothes on the market felt heavy and utilitarian, and they were not very sustainably made.

So I created Pang Wangle.

Our mission is simple: to make insect protection comfortable, beautiful, and easy to wear every day. By combining proven insect-repellent technology with classic styles and eco-friendly fabrics, we're helping people spend more time outdoors without becoming a blood meal.

Pang Wangle is a vintage American phrase meaning "to go along cheerfully despite minor misfortunes."

Our name reflects our optimistic approach to enjoying the outdoors - despite those little bloodsuckers - with the right clothes and the right attitude.

Insect-Borne Diseases On the Rise

Getting outdoors is good for your health. It boosts endorphins, lowers cortisol, and improves mental clarity.

But insect habitats are spreading, thanks to global warming. And diseases spread by insects are on the rise.

The Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization recommend insect-repellent clothing to help prevent mosquito and tick bites.

Our Insect Shield® clothing and gear repels mosquitoes, ticks, flies, fleas, chiggers, ants, and midges. Best of all, it's EPA approved for everyone, including infants, pregnant or nursing women, even pets.

Protection Built Into the Fabric

Compared to spraying, fogging, or topical insect repellents, our Insect Shield clothing can help reduce overall pesticide and repellent use. And it puts the repellent next to your skin, not on it.

We are deeply committed to an ethical and sustainable supply chain. Our custom high performance fabrics are made from either natural and renewable fibers, or recycled water bottles.
